“Faith in Food” investigates the relationship between food and religion. Our travels take us to India, Iran, Europe, the USA, and Japan. This series of five episodes examines the traditions, commands, and prohibitions that have shaped kitchens around the world and reveals where the nutritional laws originated from, but also which historical and health knowledge has lead religious teachers to their prescriptions.

This episode deals with the Jewish community in the United States of America. The Jewish kitchen represents a process that many people go through in the USA: Arriving, settling, absorbing and developing as part of the great melting pot of American’s strict rules and large celebrations.
